During the spring of 2019, we began to create a new work based on Harry Martinson’s long suite of poems, “Aniara”. In our adaptation of Aniara, we chose the poems that depict the female pilot Isagel.

Since her debut in the late 1990s, Icelandic pianist Sunna Gunnlaugs has released twelve albums, praised by critics worldwide. Over the years, she has played in ensembles of various kinds at prestigious festivals around North America and Europe. In 2015 and 2019, she won the award "Performer of the year". More recently, she has also composed music for TV and film.

Simon Rose (UK/DE) is a musician-composer, researcher and author. He’s a recognised baritone saxophonist with a main interest in open improvisation and appears on over forty music releases.

Linnéa Talp is a composer and musician (singer/organist), based in Stockholm. In the spring of 2022, her instrumental solo debut Arch of Motion was released on Thanatosis, with music written for church organ, with subtle elements of instruments such as voice, bass clarinet and flute.

Ieva Saliete is the leading Latvian harpsichordist, with a wide range of musical interests, from the late medieval era with the clavicymbalum, through baroque, to contemporary music. Arturs Noviks is a wide-ranging accordionist in versatile musical directions.

The music Twenty Fingers Duo perform emerges at the intersection of extended playing techniques and graphic scores, with great emphasis on the stage setup and the mingling between light and darkness. 

Anna-Liisa Eller and Taavi Kerikmäe are brilliant musicians who have performed together as an unusual duo of Estonian kannel and keyboards for several years. In their mutual performances they have fascinatingly blended early and contemporary music.

Ryoko Akama is a Japanese-Korean artist working with installation, performance and composition, residing in Huddersfield, UK. For Göteborg Art Sounds 2024 she is performing the new piece 'half and/or double'.

In this World Premiere famous composer Du Yun has created a new piece for Göteborg Art Sounds based on recordings of children's songs that risk disappearing, sung by child choirs, played in collaboration with five great Swedish musicians in the project GAZE. Don’t miss this unique experience!

In “Drawing Session” Ann Rosén has created a series of works where pencil drawings are the instrument itself. The lines turn into sound when drawn live.

TLEQ is a dynamic force on the Nordic jazz scene, featuring award-winning musicians who have played with top ensembles such as Frank Vignola, MusicMusicMusic, Bohuslän Big Band, Naoko Sakata, and Jojje Wadenius, amongst others.

The Swedish contemporary chamber ensemble Gageego! performs music by world renowned composers Klaus Lang and Lisa Streich together with organist Hans Davidsson, Klaus Lang himself on organ and conductor Mark Tatlow .

Bass player Athina Kontou's project "Mother" is a story about a musician who was born to Greek parents in Germany and considers both countries her home. With her ensemble, Athina arranges pieces from Greek musical culture and builds a link between her identity as a musician and her Greek roots.
