The lecture recital is presented in dialogue with Hans-Ola Ericsson and followed by a discussion. \nAbout Hampus Lindwall \nHampus Lindwall is a musical artist active in many fields ranging from contemporary classical to experimental and electronic music. He is known as an organ performer of contemporary and 20th century music and as a creative improviser & composer. \nBorn (1976) in Stockholm\, Hampus Lindwall grew up playing the electric guitar in various rock\, metal & jazz bands. He started playing keyboards in his late teens and studied the organ at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He gives concerts throughout Europe\, in the U.S.A.\, Canada and China. \nAbout Hans-Ola Ericsson \nHans-Ola Ericsson was born in Stockholm in 1958. He is a renowned organist with hundreds of recitals and concerts behind him\, as well as an esteemed pedagogue at several institutions and a bold composer of contemporary music. \nKnown for his renditions of music as diverse as Olivier Messiaen and John Cage\, his interpretive range stretches between György Ligety and the ubiquitous Johann Sebastian Bach as well as many more. Among the crown jewels of the repertoire are the collected works of Messiaen and a recently finished series of Bach in chamber and organ settings. \n  \nThis GAS Talks is presented in collaboration with Göteborg International Organ Festival and Högskolan för Scen och Musik. \nLinks: \nhttp://www.hampuslindwall.com/ \nhttp://hansolaericsson.se/

SUMMARY:Herman Müntzing [SE] presents MORF 1
DESCRIPTION:On October 16\, Herman will lead a workshop with the students of Kulturskolan Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo. The starting point for the workshops is his piece MORF1\, that will later be presented for the audience at Frölunda kulturhus. For the concert\, Herman will be joined on stage by six students from Högskolan för Scen och Musik and Kulturskolan Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo respectively\, saxophonist Jonny Wartel and pianist Karin Johansson as well as Peter Hogenäs\, teacher at Högskolan för Scen och Musik. \nAbout MORF 1 \nMORF 1 is a piece in which the course of events is defined by instructions written on \ncards. Each card presents instructions to follow and implement in a sonic action. The piece puts focus on improvisation and intuitive sonic communication\, on the balance between individuality and adaptation\, slow process of change\, and openness concerning content and shape. The piece offers a possibility of polyphonic\, intricate fabric of sounds with the instructions from the cards individually interpreted by the participants. The shape of the piece is totally connected to the unique mix of participants during the current event. MORF 1 refers to no specific genre and welcomes everyone with interest in intuitive and spontaneous sonic collaboration\, with a strive towards community and togetherness. \nSince the creation of the piece in 2005\, MORF 1 has been performed on numerous occasions\, and with very different ensembles. With professional musicians and with amateurs\, on prestigious festivals for experimental music as well as small jazz clubs\, art galleries\, private living rooms\, museums\, art- and music academies. \n  \nAbout Herman Müntzing \nHerman Müntzing is an experimental and improvising musician and composer from Baskemölla\, Sweden\, who prefers to treat and mistreat different kinds of acoustic and electric objects whenever and wherever it is appropriate. His musical world embraces sounds produced by “normal” musical instruments as well as short-circuit video-mixers\, children toys\, found objects and slowly rolling ping-pong balls. He is also the creator of 12 stringed experimental instrument “Flexichord” built out of strings and pickups from 2 electric guitars attached to a piece of massive wood. He performs concerts and workshops mainly in Europe\, due to a stubborn decision about never ever traveling by airplane. So he travels mostly by train\, performing solo and with groups\, with various musicians from the “improv-scene” and with people who don’t even consider themselves being musicians. \nThis concert is a collaboration with Brötz\, Högskolan för Scen och Musik and Kulturskolan Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo. \n  \nLinks:\nhttps://www.hermanmuntzing.com/index.html
